MUSÉE DU LOUVRE

Web Design — UX/UI Design — Art Direction — 2024

The redesign of the Musée du Louvre's website was an exciting journey combining art, technology and user experience. It wasn't just a matter of rethinking the interface, but also of carefully remodeling the logo and overall artistic direction.

Hope you enjoy !
The main objective was to showcase the museum's treasures, creating an online experience that reflected the refined, immersive ambience of the Louvre. The design aimed to create a digital space where users could freely explore and discover works of art with the same sense of wonder found in the museum's galleries.
User experience became a top priority, recreating the serendipitous discovery process inherent to a physical visit. Navigational pathways were designed to encourage exploration, allowing users to meander through the website organically, mirroring the way visitors traverse the Louvre's exhibition spaces.
The redefinition of the website's interface was the subject of a thoughtful selection process. Visual elements, color palettes and typography were meticulously chosen to highlight the artistic richness of the Louvre's iconic walls.
By adopting a refined, minimalist aesthetic, the design sought to create an environment that not only paid homage to the timeless masterpieces, but also invited users to immerse themselves in the digital gallery.
The logo underwent a transformation to better align with the renewed vision of the museum.
It was conceived as a symbolic gateway, offering a glimpse of the museum's grandeur. The new art direction aimed for simplicity and sophistication, ensuring that the Louvre's digital representation reflected the elegance of every brushstroke and sculpted form within its collections.
In an innovative move, this new artistic direction has been extended to physical elements such as admission tickets. This integration aims to take the visual experience beyond the digital realm, offering visitors a consistent aesthetic throughout their journey through the museum.
In essence, this redesign pays homage to the Louvre's timeless heritage while embracing the digital age, offering users a virtual journey that encapsulates the essence of a visit to one of the world's most celebrated cultural institutions.
User experience became a top priority, recreating the process of discovery through serendipity.
